On the 28th of February, part of a brief was sent by their picture editor Nicole Holcroft-Emmess on the topic of sleep. Despite not being published, my work was shortlisted along with a few other students for publication, going against professional photographers and practitioners in the industry. I thought looking at the different ways we sleep would’ve been the most interesting perspective to photograph. I wanted my work to have dreamlike qualities, from the lighting to the composition of the shot.
At the end of this development, I thought they seemed like very genuine moments caught of subjects, the first image with the light coming in through the window is very beautiful, and using the natural light being diffused by the curtain adds a dreamlike quality to this image.
